“Golnesa” honored at Tanzanian filmfest

TEHRAN – Iranian director Sattar Chamanigol’s drama “Golnesa” won the award for best screenplay at the 2nd Sinema Zetu International Film Festival in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the organizers announced on Saturday.

Written by Vida Salehi, the film was competing in the World Cinema category with films from different countries.

The film recounts the hard life of Golmammad and Golnesa, two illegal Afghan immigrants who are working in a traditional brick making kiln in Iran.

The 2nd edition of the festival started on January 1 and ran for 53 days. The winners were announced on February 23.
